Trujillo high, the risk of flooding comes from the presence of alluvial streams that are activated periodically linked to El Niño, being San Idelfonso stream the one which endangers the urban area. The natural channel has been modified by means of engineering works for the channeling and protection on the streets of Hipólito Unanue and Atahualpa. To assess the hydraulic behavior of the growing wave in such structures it has been developed a hydraulic simulation using the mathematical model River Analysis System Hec- Ras, which was built considering aspects of the natural channel, but have not been hydraulically tested if this fulfill its hydraulics function. Therefore hydraulic parameters Were taken from the modified topography starting at the ford to the Mampuesto Graveyard in section 2 Km considering three profiles with return flows of 15, 30 and 60 m 3 /s. In addition each section flow is represented by the satellite channel width, with a height of 60cm Kerb, retirement and sidewalk height of 2.5m considering a house from 2 to 3m tall for modeling, being able to verify a good hydraulic performance considering a gradual shift with drafts up under 1.20 m tall.
