This thesis is to evaluate the operation of the wastewater receiving bodies, in the city of Trujillo, analyzing the quality of the effluent water from them. The quality of treated water depends mainly on the following factors: design and capacity of plants Wastewater Treatment ( PTARS ) and the Stabilization Ponds ( LE) , chemical factors related to how the wastewater is gradually converted into water may be recycled into other uses such as irrigation , agriculture, etc. , physical, climatic and management, therefore in this paper the relevant information will be collected and the conclusions reached after discussion of the results will be obtained. According to reports SUNASS , watchdog service providing companies , drinking water produced in the zone of influence of the study of Trujillo, is 3,804,156.67 m3 . To determine the wastewater generated is considered 80% of the produced water, obtaining a total of 2 , 301,900.10 m3 of this total only enters the receiving bodies 1,450,858.03 m3 volume , representing 63 % of the total waste water produced the remaining volume is derived ocean or infiltrates was agricultural land , causing pollution and possible diseases to the nearby population. Another factor that significantly is the lack of funding limits the operation, maintenance and proper training of personnel to get a better quality of treated water. Another problem that directly affects the efficiency of the PTARS and LE is the income of industrial effluents to sewage systems , as organic load and other elements such as heavy metals , acids and bases generate overload units and adversely affect treatment processesbiological purification. .
