Objective: Determine the relationship between tooth loss and nutritional status of the elderly, who comes to the polyclinic of the National Police, home Trujillo; during the months of December 2015 and January 2016. Materials and Methods: A prospective, cross-sectional, descriptive and observational study. 156 people over 60 years were evaluated, which were 87 women and 70 men. The investigator recorded the Odontogram, gathering the number of missing teeth, by oral health indicator and nutritional status by body mass index (BMI). Tables dimensional and two- dimensional distribution of frequencies were used, with their absolute and relative terms; Likewise, appropriate graphics to present the results of the investigation. Test criteria independence Chi square (X 2 ) test was used, considering a significance level of 0.05. Results: It was found that older adults who lost to 1-9 teeth; They presented a thin 69.2%, 28.8% normal weight and 1.9% overweight and those who lost between 10 to 19 teeth; 2% had malnutrition, 72.5% and 25.5% thinness normal weight and those who lost of 20-32 teeth; malnutrition were 11.1%, 81.5% and 7.4% thinness normal weight. Conclusions: If there is a relationship between tooth loss and nutritional status of the elderly, who came to the polyclinic of the National Police, home Trujillo.
