This is a study that addresses the reading literacy in children in the second grade of a state educational institution in the city of Trujillo as the concentration level attention. We worked with 103 children, for taking care data-concentration test level 2 and proof reading level 2 instruments whose psychometric properties have been demonstrated were used. The objective was to analyze the significant differences in reading literacy in the study subjects with high and low attention concentration. As significant results highlight that children with high-level attention - Concentration reveal low and very low levels in the area of vocabulary, listening, temporal and spatial orientation; in reading comprehension and word recognition they are located in average and high levels respectively. As for those who hold low level of attention - concentration, also, they are located in the low and very low ranges in vocabulary, listening, temporal and spatial orientation and understanding of simple texts and, in the areas of identifying words are located in average levels. When comparing the reading skills among both groups significant differences were found in the five areas that evaluates the reading test; well: in vocabulary is a ““t““ = 2.42; in listening ““t““ = 3.11, in temporal and spatial orientation ““t““ = 2, 12; in understanding simple texts a ““t““ = 3.18; identifying words in a value ““t““ in 2, 87; and the general level a ““t““ of 4.35; It is children with high attention - concentration who stand further their peers low attention - concentration.
