This study aims to demonstrate the factors that determine agricultural exports of the region La Libertad are, how they interrelate and find the degree of relationship between these variables. The evolution of agricultural exports in the region La Libertad, has been very significant whereas in 2005 these totaled 598 million US $ FOB and end of our study in 2015 reached 3452 million, an accumulated growth 478 percent and an annual growth of 19 percent. In addition, the region has shown sustained economic growth. Between 2005 and 2015, the GDP of La Libertad has grown at an average annual rate of 7.3%, while the national average in the same period was 6.37%. Agricultural exports being an important sector in the regional economy. Theory and history reviewed in this study suggest that the real exchange rate and determine the terms of trade exports. However, our empirical evidence for the Region La Libertad, partially reflects this reality, so much so that the terms of trade have a positive relationship with agricultural exports, since, if the terms of trade increased by 1%, agricultural exports increase at 0.79%, while the real exchange rate has no significant relationship with agricultural exports, which goes against the theory and what we expected. This could change if included in the model other variables such as income from the US, which was not done by a shortage of monthly data for that variable. For future research it is recommended to include other variables in the model, such as income from trading partners considering quarterly data, because these information to the US case is measured quarterly and annually.
