This investigation has as general objective to determine the relationship between Subjective Psychological Wellbeing and Coping Responses in Psychology students from Catolica Los Angeles de Chimbote University. Under the quantitative method, basic, correlational, transversal study type was applied, with a descriptive correlational design. So, 104 Psychology students from the private university before mentioned were evaluated. Two psychometric instruments were applied: Psychological Wellbeing Scale by Sanchez – Canovas (2007) and the Coping Responses Inventory by Moos (2002). The results showed average levels of subjective psychological welfare (49%) and an average level of use in six, of the eight, coping responses, except for Logical Analysis, which was a little bit under average (28%) and Positive Re-evaluation scored a trend a little bit over the average (26%). Highly significant positive correlations were also observed between the approaching responses and Subjective Psychological Welfare (from .26 to .51), as well as the avoidance response called Seeking for Alternative Rewards (r=.29). This indicates that the higher the approach or coping with stress, higher levels of selfperception of wellbeing occurs in Psychology students.
