Objectives: To determine the factors which are associated with risk of multidrug resistance in patients with non-adherent to treatment pulmonary tuberculosis at Hospital Belen of Trujillo 2012-2016. Material and methods: An analytical, observational, retrospective, case-control study was conducted. The study population consisted of 216 adult patients; Who were divided into 2 groups: 72 patients with multidrug-resistant tuberculosis (cases) and 144 with non-MDR (controls). Data were collected directly from the medical records with the use of a file prepared by the author. Results: An OR = 7.277 (CI: 95%, [3.586 - 14.767]) with statistical significance (p <0.05) was found for Malnutrition as a factor associated with non-adherence to treatment for MDR tuberculosis risk with. Intake of incomplete doses showed an OR = 3.74 (CI: 95%, [1.81 - 7.71]) and also which was significant (p <0.05) and HIV infection had an OR = 3, 01 (CI: 95%, [1,67 - 15,04]) with statistical significance (p <0.05) Conclusions: The strongest association for developing Multidrug-Resistance corresponds to the malnutrition. In addition, incomplete dose uptake and HIV infection are also factors associated with non-adherence to treatment in patients with TB to develop TB-MDR. In addition, incomplete dose uptake and HIV infection are also factors associated with risk of TB-MDR in patients non-adherent to treatment pulmonary tuberculosis.
