The present study was to determine the level of knowledge about medical emergencies in dental surgeries in students of courses Clinical I and Clinical II in School of Stomatology Antenor Orrego Private University according cycle and gender. This study was descriptive, transversal and observational. The sample consisted of 64 students which were conducted surveys and freely agreed to participate in the study. The level of knowledge was measured using an instrument developed especially for this study, previously validated (content), it was performed a pilot test in which 15 students participated, with good reliability (Cronbach Alpha). The statistical results given that 70.31% of students have a level of intermediate knowledge, 20.31% have a good level of knowledge and 9.38% have a level of bad knowledge. When comparing per cycle no significant difference was found giving the results were quite similar to that of the overall sample and revealing that there is no great contribution in the eighth cycle regarding this matter. When comparing gender was observed see no significant difference between them. In conclusion the results to be clustered around the Regular qualification encourage propose a series of improvements aimed at strengthening knowledge in the treatment of medical emergencies in dental office.
