In order to demonstrate the positive in vitro antibacterial effect of Solanum tuberosum (potato fermented) in Escherichia coli compared with gentamicin and ceftriaxone an experimental study in which a total of 30 strains of Escherichia coli isolated from urine cultures from patients diagnosed with Urinary Tract Infection of the MINSA Hospitals Trujillo and preserved at the Laboratory of Microbiology and Parasitology evaluated Universidad Privada Antenor Orrego was performed. It is found in Table no.1 which compares the antibacterial effect of gentamicin versus Solanum tubersoum (fermented potato) that the tuber obtained a sensible antibacterial activity by 90 % compared to the drug which garnered only 43.3 %. So also an antibacterial effect Intermediate or Moderately sensitive to 6.7 % and 30 % correspondingly finally was resistant tuber 3.3% and 26.7 % of the drug. Table No. 2 the antibacterial effect of Solanum tuberosum versus Ceftriaxone which tells us that 20% of the tuber and 60 % of the drug are sensitive , 73.3 % and 36% are correspondingly moderately sensitive or intermediate effect compared and finally generate resistance tuber 6.7% with 3.3 % of the drug Conclusions: There antibacterial action of Solanum tuberosum (potato fermented ) against strains of Escherichia coli , this effect is is moderately sensitive to that produced with ceftriaxone and gentamicin obtained exceeds.
