The aim of the present study was to determinate the interest in specialties and postgraduate studies in students of the last cycle of the career of Stomatology province Trujillo, 2015. The prospective, cross-sectional, descriptive and observational study was developed at the universities of Trujillo. It included a total of 197 surveys. For the collection of data, each survey was registered with code. The results showed that 97.5% (192) wish to pursue graduate studies, being the masters the most chosen by the students with 42.6% (84), having as main motivation raise both professional and academic status. In the case of specialization areas of preference were: Oral rehabilitation 28.9% (57), orthodontics and maxillary orthopedics 18.3% (36), Maxillofacial oral surgery 16.2% (32), Carielogia, and Endodontic 12.2% (24), Pediatric Dentistry 8.1% (16), Periodontics 6.1% (12) having as a main reason to acquire more knowledge and have a greater economic income; Finally, the 49.7% (98) wish to complete their studies in Lima. It was concluded that the majority of students want to raise their professional level, being Oral rehabilitation area of greater choice for the promotion and that its studies prefer to perform them in Lima and abroad, being the most chosen country with 58% Brazil (40)
