Determine if c reactive protein has value to predict osteomyelitis in infected diabetic foot at Victor Lazarte Echegaray Hospital. Material and methods: Retrospective, observational, diagnosis test study to aplicate in 86 patients with infected diabetic foot. We calculated the sensibility, specificity, positive and negative predictive value. We calculated the chi square test and the area under the curve. Results: The best cut off value to c reactive protein to predict osteomyelitis in infected diabetic foot was 20 mg/dl and sensibility, specificity, positive and negative predictive value was 79%, 82%, 67%, 87%; respectively. The under the curve area were 0.80. Conclusions: The best cut off value of c reactive protein was 20 mg/dl and this offers the better predictive value with a great estadistical significance to osteomyelitis in infected diabetic foot . The under the curve area offer an intermedium degree of exactitude.
