Grado de apoyo familiar y nivel de autoestima del adulto mayor en el Hospital Walter Cruz Vilca, centro poblado Miramar, Trujillo - 2014

Abstract

Con el propósito de determinar el Grado de Apoyo Familiar y su relación con el Nivel de Autoestima en el adulto mayor, se realizó el presente trabajo de investigación de tipo descriptivo correlacional, de corte transversal; durante los meses Enero a Mayo del 2014, en el Hospital Walter Cruz Vilca, Centro Poblado Miramar, Trujillo. El universo muestral estuvo constituido por 50 Adultos Mayores que pertenecen al programa del Adulto Mayor. Para la recolección de la información se utilizaron dos cuestionarios, la primera para indagar el grado de apoyo familiar y la segunda sobre el nivel de autoestima del adulto mayor en el Hospital Walter Cruz Vilca, Centro Poblado Miramar, Trujillo; obteniéndose los siguientes resultados, respecto al grado de apoyo familiar en el 56% de adultos mayores fue alto, en el 24% fue moderado y en el 20% bajo; en cuanto al nivel de autoestima en el 78% fue alto, mientras que en el 22% fue bajo, llegando a concluir que aquellos que tuvieron baja autoestima el 18% tuvo bajo grado de apoyo familiar, en tanto que el 52% que tuvo un alto nivel de autoestima también evidenciaron alto grado de apoyo familiar, resultando estadísticamente significativa la relación entre el grado de apoyo familiar y el nivel de autoestima.

In order to determine the level of family support and its relation to the level of esteem in the elderly, the present research correlational descriptive, cross-section was performed; during the months January to May 2014, in the Hospital Cruz Walter Vilches, Miramar Town Center, Trujillo. The sample universe consisted of 50 older adults belonging to the Elderly program. To gather information two questionnaires, the first is used to investigate the degree of family support and the second on the self-esteem of the elderly in the Walter Cruz Vilca, Miramar Town Center, Trujillo Hospital; the following results with respect to the degree of family support in 56% of older adults was high, 24% were moderate and 20% low; in the level of self-esteem in 78% was high, while 22% was low, reaching the conclusion that those who had low self-esteem 18% had low levels of family support, while 52% who had a high self-esteem also showed high levels of family support, being statistically significant relationship between the level of family support and self-esteem.
