To determine the antimicrobial resistance of Enterobacteriaceae in patients intensive care unit of Belen MINSA Hospital. Trujillo 2014. Methods: A descriptive study, retrospective, longitudinal and observational in the Intensive Care Unit of Belen Hospital of Trujillo was carried out during 2014. The results of microbiological cultures of 42 patients were evaluated according to the inclusion criteria , established exclusion and elimination. Results: It was noted that of the 42 culture samples, 31 correspond to microorganisms prevalence of Enterobacteriaceae and Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Enterobacteriaceae within the group of Escherichia coli predominated. It was found that E. coli showed high sensitivity to nitrofurantoin and imipenem and high resistance to ceftriaxone, ciprofloxacin and gentamicin. Furthermore P. aeruginosa showed high sensitivity to imipenem likewise highly resistant to ceftriaxone, ceftazidime and aztreonam showed. Conclusions: The microorganisms most frequently isolated were: P. aeruginosa and E. coli; E. coli, and P. aeruginosa showed high sensitivity to Imipenem, E. coli, also showed high resistance to third-generation cephalosporins (Ceftriaxone), aminoglycosides (Gentamicin) and fluoroquinolones (Ciprofloxacin). Furthermore highly resistant P.aeruginosa Ceftriaxone, and Aztreonam Ceftazidime.
