The present investigation was to determine the antibacterial effects of the ethanol extract Propolis apis mellifera “propolis” against Enterococcus faecalis ATCC 29212. The study was conducted at the Laboratory of Microbiology at the National University of Trujillo. The sample consisted of 80 petri dishes, taking 5 groups of 16 plates, plus a control group, Müller Hinton medium containing respectively the ethanol extract Propolis of apis mellifera “propolis” and Enterococcus faecalis ATCC 29212 .The antibacterial effect determined through a low bacterial concentration (WBC), and bacterial susceptibility. Statistical analysis began by testing SHAPIRO-WILK for testing normality, obtaining negative results, resolving conduct nonparametric tests, using Kruskal-Wallis, we proceeded to the analysis of variance (ANOVA) and multiple comparison test of Duncan, compared to assess bacterial growth and susceptibility between different concentrations of the extract. Dunnett's test for comparison with control. Statistical significance was 5% considered. The results allow us to conclude that the ethanol extract of Apis mellifera propolis “propolis” possesses antibacterial effect in vitro against Enterococcus faecalis ATCC 29212, being a statistically significant difference between the concentration of 25% with 75% (p = 0.024) and 25% to 100% (p = 0.025), but not with the 50% concentration. In bacterial susceptibility statistically significant difference between the concentrations at 25% with the other three concentrations tested, but not differences were observed among the latter was found. It is recommended to conduct research using concentrations less than 25%, to determine the minimum bactericidal concentration.
