The objective of this work is to establish the relationship that exists between ““Family social climate and social skills in students at a private university in Trujillo““. It is substantive research, with a descriptive correlational design, having as a study sample 223 students from the VI to the X cycle of the psychology career. The instruments used were the Family Social Climate Scale (FES) and the Checklist of Goldstein's Social Skills; obtaining as a result that there is a highly significant correlation (r=.412; p<.01) direct and to a medium degree between both variables. There is a highly significant relationship (p<.01) direct and to a medium degree between the relationships dimension and the dimensions of first social skills (r=.348), advanced social skills (r=.378), social skills related to feelings (r=.345), alternative skills to aggression (r=.425), social skills to cope with stress (r=.365) and planning skills (r=.354); as well as between the development dimension with the dimensions first social skills (r=.356), advanced social skills (r=.426), social skills related to feelings (r=.356), alternative skills to aggression (r= .345), social skills to cope with stress (r=.456) and planning skills (r=.489); and the stability dimension with the dimensions first social skills (r=.312), advanced social skills (r=.359), social skills related to feelings (r=.456), alternative skills to aggression (r=.469 ), social skills to cope with stress (r=.364) and planning skills (r=.326).
