Objectives: The present investigation was developed in order to identify the benefits of therapeutic exercise in individuals with adolescent idiopathic scoliosis. Methods: A search of different databases such as Pubmed / MEDLINE, BVS and Cochrane for the last 10 years was performed, including relevant studies of retrospective cohorts, case series and descriptive studies. Articles in Spanish and English will be considered. The terms medical descriptors (Medical Subject Headings; MeSH) scoliosis, physical therapy modalities, exercise, and conservative treatment were used in their various conjugations using logical links such as OR and AND. Conclusions: Therapeutic exercises were shown to be effective in improving Cobb angle, trunk rotation angle, sagittal profile, and quality of life in patients with adolescent idiopathic scoliosis, so this review will contribute to improvements in the management of this frequent pathology in medical practice.
