The present research ““Inventory system to reduce the supply, of cancer drugs, in the Hospital Alta Complejidad Virgen de la Puerta““, aimed to reduce the supply of cancer drugs, in the Hospital Alta Complejidad Virgen de la Puerta-ESSALUD, playing an important role in the provision of quality health services, therefore requires that its management be effective and efficient. The present investigation analyzes the current situation of the public supply of medicines in the Hospital Alta Complejidad Virgen de La Puerta - ESSALUD and the main problems it faces and its opportunities, in accordance with the policies of modernization of public management and the reform of the health sector, so it is proposed to apply the continuous review and periodic review models, according to the results of the coefficient of variability. To this end, the inventories of 2018 drugs, the antineoplastic and immunosuppressive therapeutic group were classified as critical in this type of medical specialty. For this purpose, the ABC Inventories classification was used, which allowed us to improve the efficiency of the current inventory, as well as to optimize the time spent searching for the drugs with the greatest demand. Determining that there are 12 drugs belonging to Class ““A““, which represent 80.23% of the total annual valued demand of the 80 oncological drugs that the Hospital owns. Subsequently, the most suitable forecast model was selected, using 5 forecast models: Linear regression, weighted moving average, exponential smoothing and exponential smoothing with trend, and finally the model with the least error (Linear Regression) was selected, according to the following indicators: DMA (Mean absolute deviation), mean square error (ECM) and the mean absolute percentage error (MAPE). Finally, the EOQ models and the P model of inventories were applied. The application of this inventory system also allowed to determine the order costs, as well as the maintenance costs of inventories, which had been carried out empirically. The proposed inventory system compared to the current system overcomes the negative impact of this model on the supply management of this health facility, reducing inventory costs and achieving annual savings of S/ 232,747. Likewise, the indicator of current availability of medicines of 82%, with the proposal will cover 100% of the demand.
