Abstract: La presente investigación denominada “Adicción al internet y habilidades sociales
en adolescentes de un colegio privado de Trujillo”, basada en una investigación de tipo
sustantiva correlacional, la cual tiene como objetivo principal determinar la relación entre
la adicción al internet y habilidades sociales en adolescentes de un colegio privado de
Trujillo, se tomó como muestra a 110 adolescentes de edades entre 12 y 17 años de ambos
sexos; se utilizó como instrumento la Escala de Adicción al Internet de Lima EAIL, la
cual nos mostró los niveles de adicción presentes en la muestra y la Escala de Habilidades
Sociales EHS de Jakeline Herrera. El 67% de los adolescentes de la muestra presentan un
bajo nivel de adicción al internet, el 51,9% de los alumnos se encuentran en un nivel
promedio con respecto a sus habilidades sociales; asimismo, se determinó que no existe
relación entre la adicción al internet y habilidades sociales en los adolescentes de un
centro educativo privado de Trujillo (p>.05), mientras que, a nivel de dimensiones,
solamente se halló una relación directa y de grado bajo (rho=.293; p<.01) entre la
dimensión sintomatológica de adicción al internet y el componente fisiológico de
habilidades sociales
The present investigation called ““Internet addiction and social skills in adolescents from a private school in Trujillo““, based on a correlational substantive type of investigation, whose main objective is to determine the relationship between Internet addiction and social skills in adolescents from a private school in Trujillo, 110 adolescents between the ages of 12 and 17 of both sexes were taken as a sample; The Lima EAIL Internet Addiction Scale was used as an instrument, which showed us the levels of addiction present in the sample and the Jakeline Herrera EHS Social Skills Scale. 67% of the adolescents in the sample have a low level of internet addiction, 51.9% of the students are at an average level with respect to their social skills. Demonstrating that there is no relationship between internet addiction and social skills in adolescents from a private educational center in Trujillo (p>.05). Likewise, with respect to the first variable, it was possible to obtain 67.9% in the symptomatological dimension and 69.8% in the dysfunctional dimension corresponding to low levels, on the other, hand with the second variable it was possible to appreciate according to its dimensions 26.4% in the component behavioral and 40.6% in the cognitive component corresponding to high levels, in terms of the physiological component, 33% was obtained, placing it at a low level
