The main objective of the research carried out was to determine the influence of knowledge of contraceptive methods and their access for the prevention of pregnancy in adolescents of the Educational Institution San Nicolás de Trujillo 2021. The type of research was descriptive with a non-experimental or observational design. , using as a data collection instrument a questionnaire called “Questionnaire for the evaluation of the influence of knowledge of contraceptive methods and their access for the prevention of pregnancy in adolescents of the Educational Institution San Nicolas de Trujillo“; and it was applied to 140 adolescent students; achieving the following results; In the level of knowledge in all the dimensions, the category with the highest percentage is of the high level, being in the concept dimension 55.71%, importance 75.00%; type 53.57% and correct use 77.86%; 44.40% of adolescents have access to contraceptive methods; the condom was the method most chosen by adolescents with 35.72% compared to 58.57% who do not use any contraceptive method; the place where adolescents acquire contraceptive methods is in pharmacies with 86.20%; knowledge in its dimension “concept“, “type“ and “correct use“ significantly influences access with respect to the place where access to the use of contraceptive methods is obtained (p-value < 5%).
