The objective of this thesis is to study the seismic performance of a five- story confined masonry building designed for hotel purposes, located in the District of Piura, Province of Piura, Piura Region. The building will consist of various spaces such as rooms, offices, reception area, conference rooms, among others. The hotel building occupies a land area of 217.84 m2. The development of this project followed the requirements established by Peruvian technical standards, specifically the following: E.020 Loads, E.030 Seismic Design, E.060 Reinforced Concrete, E.070 Masonry. Additionally, international standards such as ACI 318-14 (American Concrete Institute), ASCE 41-17, ACI 318-19, and FEMA 440 (Federal Emergency Management Agency) were also considered. For the nonlinear structural analysis, the static method was used. Gravity loads were applied to the structure along with monotonic loads in each direction to allow the materials to reach their nonlinear state and achieve their optimal performance. The analysis determined that the seismic performance in both directions was rated as ““Fully Operational,““ with shear forces of 779.52 tons and displacements of 89.32 mm in the ““X““ direction, and a shear force of 802.89 tons and a displacement of 92.64 mm in the ““Y““ direction.
