To determine whether a history of early sexual debut, pelvic inflammatory disease, history of abortion and history of abdominopelvic surgery are risk factors for ectopic pregnancy. Methodology: A retrospective observational analytical study was conducted in a case-control design in all patients with suspected ectopic pregnancy admitted to Hospital Belén de Trujillo (HBT) between March 2020 and March 2022. The study was conducted with a sample of 103 cases and 103 controls. Results: 36.9% of the patients were between 27 and 21 years of age (p= 0.173), 90.3% were from urban areas (p=0.166) and 57.3% of the patients had anemia (p=0.777), with no significant statistical relationship for the presence of ectopic pregnancy; however, 33.0% of the patients did have a history of having been multiparous (p= 0.003), with a relationship for the development of the disease under study. The history of early sexual debut with an OR value of 0.559 (95%CI: 0.301 - 1.036), pelvic inflammatory infection with an OR value of 0.038 (95%CI: 0.013 - 0.111), history of abortion with an OR value of 1.168 (95%CI: 0.676 - 2.019), history of abdominopelvic surgery with an OR value of 0.925 (95%CI: 0.535 - 1.599) are not significant risk factors for the presence of ectopic pregnancy in patients. Conclusions: A history of early sexual debut, pelvic inflammatory infection, history of abortion and history of abdominopelvic surgery are not risk factors for the presence of ectopic pregnancy.
