The present study evaluated the adhesion of biofilm to polypropylene suture compared to nylon post clinical crown lengthening surgery. This prospective, transversal, comparative, quasi-experimental study was carried out at the UPAO Dental Center for patients undergoing surgery to lengthen the clinical crown of an anterior tooth with a prosthetic motive for space recovery that followed the stable criteria. The selection method was non probabilistic for convenience. The variables were evaluated using as tool, a data collection sheet prepared for the investigation. The statistical analysis was through the Student's T test of related samples, considering a level of significance of 5%. The results indicate that there is a significant difference (p=0.001) between the adhesion of biofilm to the polypropylene suture compared to nylon post clinical crown lengthening surgery. In conclusion the polypropylene suture adheres less biofilm compared to nylon.
