The following research contemplates a contextual analysis and situational diagnosis of the coverage of the pediatric health service and its current infrastructure in the city, culminating in an architectural proposal that seeks to provide a viable solution to the identified problem that currently affects thousands of children with chronic and mild illnesses and with pediatric health establishments that do not meet their satisfactions. The project is part of the Patient Autonomy Law No. 41-2002, which proposes the rights of patients and favors the right to decide on health issues, and is also governed by Bill No. 5166/2020-CR, which asks to declare of public necessity and national interest, the construction of the Regional Institute of Child Health in Trujillo, La Libertad and was approved unanimously by the congress. The project involves with in its objectives, the construction of a new architectural model, rethinking and innovating the misconception about pediatric health and the spaces they inhabit, all under an approach based on the needs of the child patient. The research is structured in chapters, which describe the theoretical framework, methodology, programmatic research, location and regulatory parameters necessary to finally conclude the design of the architectural project. It seeks to redefine the role of pediatric architectural institutions, which involves an analysis of perception, expression and emotion through architecture; contributing to the solution of pediatric health problems.
