This research studies the concretes prepared with different percentages of Sawdust (0.5%; 1.0%), based on a standard concrete (PC) with the main objective of determining the variation of the mechanical behavior (properties) of the concrete with the addition of sawdust. , regarding the design of the concrete pattern. For this, concrete design was proposed according to the methodology proposed by ACI 211. For compressive strengths of 210kg / cm², using two dosages of sawdust (0.5%, 1%), with respect to the volume of concrete by weight of cement for each resistance, with which concrete as concrete properties such as its resistance were established. After having the appropriate dosages, the preparation of each of the dosages was carried out, carrying out the following tests on the concrete in the fresh state: settlement (Slump), temperature; Subsequently, tests were carried out on the concrete in the hardened state: resistance to compression at 24 hours, 3, 7 and 28 days of age, as a result of the process of analysis of resistance to compression, it was known that the most optimal percentage of sawdust (0.5 %), is with which a better performance of the properties is obtained. It should be noted that the cement used was Pacasmayo Extraforte Red Cement and the sawdust was obtained from the screw wood. As a final conclusion it was obtained that the concrete with the addition of sawdust of 0.5% improves the compressive strength by 12% and the addition of sawdust of 1.0% only improves by 1.8%, in addition the addition of sawdust in percentages of 0.5 and 1.0 % decreases concrete settlement by 20% and 40% respectively due to the high absorption power of concrete.
