The present study was conducted to determine the effect of the specific gravity of Cobb 500 hatching eggs on the quality (evaluation of quality, weight and sex) and the percentage of hatch (total percentage and embryonic mortality) of the newborn chicken, carried out in the hatchery ““Tecniagro““ SAC 1764 52-week-old reproductive hens' eggs were evaluated, distributed through a Completely Random Design, grouping according to the specific gravity: less than 1,075, between 1,075 and 1,080 and more than 1,080 found. by means of the method of immersion in saline solution. The results of the variables of percentage of birth, quality and covariable weight of newborn chicken were analyzed, after verifying that they meet the requirements of parametric tests, with the test of analysis of variance, with a multiple test of means of tukey: while, for the evaluation of sex and embryonic mortality, it was applied by means of a contingency table with the chi-square test specifying each of the analysis criteria. Statistical significance (p <0.05) was found for the variables of percentage of birth and quality of newborn chickens, thus determining that the specific gravity greater than 1,080 (> 1,080) has a better percentage of birth and quality of newborn chicken. For the variables of weight and sex, no statistical significance was found (p> 0.05); and embryonic mortality, regarding contaminated eggs was significantly for the same category. It is concluded that the specific gravity does have an effect on the percentage of birth and the quality of the newborn chickens.
