Identify what are the risk factors for organ prolapse at Hospital I La Esperanza, during the period july-december 2019.”” Material and methods: “An analytical, observational, retrospective case-control study was carried out.” “The study population consisted of 158 women; who were divided into 2 groups: with pelvic organ prolapse and without pelvic organ prolapse.”” Results: ““Multiparity presented an association as a risk factor for genital prolapse with OR 5.7 (95% CI) with a P value <0.01.” “Episiotomy, the OR odds ratio = 3.4, as it is a value greater than 1, indicates that episiotomy is a risk factor for the development of pelvic organ prolapse.” “Age> = 40 years is a risk factor for pelvic organ prolapse with an OR = 5.02.”” “Obesity (OR = 1.8), fetal macrosomia (OR = 1.6) and total vaginal hysterectomy (OR = 0.6) are not a risk factor for pelvic organ prolapse, since they lacked statistical significance.” Conclusions: ““In this thesis it was identified that the risk factors for organ prolapse at Hospital I La Esperanza were multiparity (OR = 7.1) and episiotomy (OR = 3.4) and age (> = 40 years) (OR = 5.02).
