Objective: The purpose of this study was to determine if hysterectomy is a risk factor for sexual dysfunction in women between 30-45 years. Material and Methods: A cohort study was carried out, with a sample size of 147 patients, who met the selection criteria, which were distributed in the groups, 21 hysterectomized (exposed) patients and 126 non-hysterectomized (unexposed) patients. the Sexual Dysfunction Index test was applied. Results: 33.3% of hysterectomized patients have female sexual dysfunction, while in non-hysterectomized patients, 14.3%. A significant statistical difference was found (p <0.05), which indicates that the hysterectomy is related to female sexual dysfunction. In addition, a relative risk of 2.33 was obtained. 28.6% of exposed patients presented total hysterectomy and sexual dysfunction, 52.4% presented total hysterectomy but no sexual dysfunction, 4.8% of exposed patients presented subtotal hysterectomy and sexual dysfunction, and 14.2% presented subtotal hysterectomy, but not dysfunction sexual. Likewise, 17% of the total patients evaluated presented sexual dysfunction, while the remaining 83% of women did not present sexual dysfunction. On the other hand, the sociodemographic factors under study do not constitute factors that can influence female sexual dysfunction and that can be attributed to Hysterectomy. Conclusion: Hysterectomy ““constitutes““ a risk factor for sexual dysfunction. Key words: Hysterectomy, Sexual Physiological Dysfunctions, Sexual Health.
