The purpose of this research is to establish association between menopausal status and clinical-epidemiological characteristics in patients with the diagnosis of triple negative breast cancer treated at Hospital III José Cayetano Heredia - Piura between 2013-2019 period. Methods: Observational design, analytic, cross-sectional and retrospective study, which population was 68 patients with triple negative breast cancer attended in the hospital between January 2013 and December 2019. We used a data collection form as an instrument, then processed and analyzed the data obtained with the stadistic tests: Chi square, Fisher exact test and logistic regression. Results: Triple negative breast neoplasia has a prevalence of 21.73% in our región. Premenopausal patients represent 33.82% of the population and posmenopausal patients 66.18%. Most come from urban-rural áreas and are housewives. The predominant tumor size is 2 to 5 cm, of which 69.4% are posmenopausal and 30.6% are premenopausal. The most frequently affected breast is the left one with 69.6% posmenopausal and 30.4% premenopausal patients. We found a greater associaton between multiparous patients and posmenopausal patients with triple negative breast cancer. Also we found a greater association between patients with oncology family history and premenopausal patients with triple negative breast cancer. Conclusion: Significant differences exist between premenopausal and postmenopausal triple negative breast cancer patients. There is a high percentage (77.94%) of the patients with triple negative breast neoplasia who are overweight and obese in our región.
