Enamel hypoplasia is a quantitative alteration, which occurs when there is incomplete formation of the enamel organic matrix; This defect occurs during the formation of the crown of the tooth. Clinically it goes from a yellowish to dark brown color, to extensive and irregular perforations on the surface, which can affect both the temporary and permanent dentition. The objective of this study is to determine the prevalence of enamel hypoplasia in children from 6 to 12 years old of the I.E. Parcemon Saldarriaga Montejo, Piura. We examined 182 children of the I. Parcemon Saldarriaga Montejo between the ages of 6 to 12 years of age through a non-probabilistic convenience method. The present work is transversal, descriptive, prospective, prolective and observational. To analyze the evaluation, frequency tables of an entry will be used with their absolute and relative values. A 95% confidence interval will be constructed, and the non-parametric criterion-independence test will be used, using the Chi-square distribution with a level of significance of 5%. The results determined that there is a 40% prevalence of enamel hypoplasia, being the male gender the most affected with 24% and according to age it was found that children of 6 to 8 years had a higher prevalence of enamel hypoplasia with 19%, followed by children from 11 to 12 years old with 11% and while children from 9 to 10 presented 10%. No significant differences were found in sex, nor among ages. The children of the I.E Parcemon Saldarriaga Montejo present a 40% prevalence of enamel hypoplasia, where it affects mainly boys of the male sex between the ages of 6 to 8 years.
