This research work aimed to describe the fact checking of prescribers about covid 19, between May and September 2020, on their social networks. The type of applied research was qualitative and, as a data collection technique, the interview was used, whose instrument was the guide of the same name. In the study, the Peruvian prescribers who carried out fact checking during the pandemic, about false news and myths about covid-19 in their social networks, were considered as a population. Among them, five were selected for convenience. It was possible to determine that the prescribers selected the possible false information taking into consideration those coming from dubious sources on Facebook and WhatsApp or those related to controversial issues that generated much speculation, but lacking the opinion of specialists. In general, to verify the information, the prescribers turned to other experts in each specific topic and constantly consulted reliable documents, although each one followed their own path to verify the information. However, none used the strategy of content design or strategic reach adequately, nor did they perform a classification of the publications
