Objective: To determine the risk factors for dengue with alarm signs in patients seen in the emergency department of the Hospital Jerusalén of the district of La Esperanza, during the period from January to October 2023. Methods: An observational, analytical, retrospective, retrospective, case-control study was conducted with 92 patients with dengue with alarm signs and 184 patients with dengue without alarm signs, attended in the emergency department of the Hospital Distrital Jerusalén between January and October 2023. The Chi square test was used in the data analysis to identify the associated variables (p<0.05); subsequently, multivariate logistic regression was performed to calculate the adjusted Odds ratio (ORa) with its respective 95% confidence interval. Results: Multivariate analysis with logistic regression identified the following as risk factors for dengue with warning signs: obesity with an ORa= 22.9 (IC95%=7.07 –74.1, p<0,001), and previous infection with an ORa=5.30 (IC95%=1.82 - 15.2, p=0.002). Conclusion: Obesity and previous infection were risk factors for dengue with alarm signs
