The main function of the pavement is to allow access and transit to different areas, however, we know that it has its useful life cycle, so it is necessary to progressively make repairs, but first the state of surface preservation of the pavement must be evaluated, in this case the type of pavement under study is rigid. The main objective of this thesis is to determine the state of surface preservation of the rigid pavement and to elaborate proposals for improving its operational condition of the main streets of the district of Chulucanas, applying the PCI method governed by the ASTM D6433-03 STANDARD, Standard Procedure for the Inspection of the Pavement Condition Index for Roads and Parking Lots - 2002. The set of pavements to be studied was defined, which is made up of 9177 linear meters of concrete pavement covering the 6 streets under study. Within this group, it was divided into 6 sections as follows: Section 1, Huancavelica Avenue (1617 m), section 2, Junin Avenue (1384 m), section 3, Lima Avenue (1542 m), section 4, Lambayeque Avenue (1501 m), section 5, Pisagua Avenue (1678 m) and section 6, Puno Avenue (1455 m), these sections were subdivided into sections, obtaining a total of 18 sections and these in turn into sample units. The PCI method was applied, thus determining the condition index by sample unit, section and finally by stretch, obtaining that 5 stretches are in fair condition and one in good condition, also indicating that there are sections in poor condition which are sections 2, 9, 12 and 17. All sections should be repaired for the conservation of their condition, applying greater emphasis on the aforementioned sections since they affect vehicular traffic
