The present research work sought to answer the following questions: what is the most technically recommendable design between optimized geometry pavement (OGP) and asphalt pavement for the Casablanca urbanization, Chiclayo, Lambayeque? and what is the most economically recommendable design between optimized geometry pavement (OGP) and asphalt pavement for the Casablanca urbanization, Chiclayo, Lambayeque? The population consisted of all the roads in the Casablanca urbanization, which is composed of 91,712.20 m2 of local roads, representing 59 streets, and the study sample corresponds to the main avenue with an area of 16,072 m2. In order to solve the problem, studies of road traffic, soil mechanics and topographic studies were carried out. Therefore, it was found that Tamarindo Avenue in the Casablanca Urbanization had 193,589.10 Equivalent Axes, with a design CBR of 3.44%. In the case of asphalt paving with the AASTHO 1993 method, the result was a structure made up of a 5 cm asphalt layer, 20 cm of base and 17 cm of subbase. In the case of the Optimized TCP slab, it resulted in a structure consisting of a concrete slab of 4.0 Mpa of flexural strength and a thickness of 12 cm; and an affirmed base of 15 cm in height. It was also concluded that in the evaluation of the costs of both methods, a saving of 0.6% was obtained in the case of the optimized slabs versus asphalt, mainly in earthwork costs; in addition, in the evaluation of the execution times, a reduction of 8 calendar days was obtained in the case of the optimized slabs versus asphalt, taking into account the reduction of earthwork and the early start of the concrete paving. On the other hand, in the evaluation of the useful life, it was shown with experiences in other projects that are in service, that the effects of loads, wear and other environmental agents, are lower for the case of optimized slabs versus asphalt, so its useful life is longer, so that the costs for rehabilitation and maintenance would decrease and would make it much more profitable over the years of service. In summary, both the technical and economic analysis, the use of TCP Optimized Slabs is optimal for local roads in the Casablanca urbanization.
