This is a descriptive correlational research study. Its objective was to determine the relationship between the level of knowledge about diabetes mellitus and adherence to treatment in type 2 diabetic patients in a health center, Trujillo 2023. The sample consisted of 136 diabetic patients, who are part of the non-communicable program at the Melvin Jones Health Center in the district of Alto Trujillo, who were administered the Diabetes Knowledge Questionnaire (DKQ) that evaluates knowledge about diabetes and the Martin-Bayarre-Grau survey that evaluates therapeutic adherence. The results showed that 87.1% of the patients with insufficient knowledge in the NCD program showed partial adherence to treatment, while 7.9% had total adherence and 5% had no adherence. On the other hand, 51.4% of the patients with sufficient knowledge show partial adherence and 48.6% total adherence. It was determined that there is a significant correlation, the linear by linear association showed a value of 26.967 (gl=1) and a bilateral asymptotic significance of less than 0.001. between the variables
