To Determine if hypothyroidism is a risk factor associated with fibromyalgia Method: An observational, analytical, retrospective study of cases and controls was carried out where a total of 114 medical records were evaluated, divided into 38 from the case group and 76 from the control group at the Víctor Lazarte Echegaray Hospital, the records were selected by inclusion criteria Regarding the epidemiological characteristics of the patients with fibromyalgia, the data were collected in an Excel database and analyzed with the SPSS program, then I looked for the association with the Chi square and Odds Ratio Results: Regarding the patients with fibromyalgia, 36.8% had a diagnosis of hypothyroidism, the controls had 34.2% had a diagnosis of hypothyroidism. In the statistical analysis of both variables, the result of p = 0.78 and a 95% confidence interval of 0.498 - 2.526, the result reflects that there is no association between both variables. Conclusion: Hypothyroidism is not a risk factor associated with fibromyalgia
