A cross-sectional correlational descriptive study was carried out, with a basic explanatory background with the objective of determining the relationship between family communication and risky sexual behavior in adolescents of the Educational Institution N° 81005 José Carlos Mariátegui La Chira. Trujillo 2023. It had a total population of 123 adolescents from 3rd, 4th and 5th grade, of which a simple of 61 adolescents who met the inclusion criteria was left. Two questionnaires were used for data collection, the first is the survey on sexual risk behaviors modified by us researchers, whose validity was made by expert judgment and reliability by alpha of Cronbach, instrument 1: 0.866, instrument 2: 0.755. The results showed that 100%(123) of adolescents of the Educational Institution Educational N° 81005 José Carlos Mariátegui La Chira, 57.7% (71) have infrequent communication between parents and children about sexuality; In addition to maintaining a negative communication style 58.5% (72), adolescents show low risk of sexual behaviors 78.6% (33) and only 21.4% show medium-risk sexual behaviors; concluding that statistically there is no significant relationship between family communication and risky sexual behaviors in adolescents from the aforementioned educational institution (x2 = 0.976, gl = 1, p= 0.323 > 0.05), which indicates that both variables are independent of each other.
