It is to evaluate the prognostic value of the lymphatic and/or vascular infiltrate in actuarial survival at five years in patients with resectable colon cancer treated at the Virgen de la Puerta de Trujillo High Complexity Hospital during the period from 2015 to 2020.o evaluate the prognostic value of the lymphatic and/or vascular infiltrate in the five-year actuarial survival in patients with resectable colon cancer treated at the Hospital de Alta Complejidad Virgen de la Puerta de Trujillo during the period from 2015 to 2020. MATERIALS AND METHODS: Actuarial survival was analyzed through a predictive and ambispective correlational study, gathering 140 patients diagnosed with resected colon cancer between 2015 and 2020. The analysis was performed using the Kaplan-Meier method; survival curves were compared with the Log Rank statistic. The multivariate analysis was performed using the Cox Regression model to determine the Hazard Ratio (HR). RESULTS: Analysis of the presence of the lymphovascular infiltrate determined a lower five-year survival compared to patients without the infiltrate (30.025% as opposed to 58.807%, p 0.0002). Likewise, the multivariate analysis supports the lymphovascular infiltrate as a factor associated with mortality (p 0.007; HR 5.5; 95% CI 1.59-18.98). In our study, the multivariate analysis of lymph node stages (p 0.484), tumor stages (p 0.855) and clinical stages (p 0.967) did not represent a greater risk of mortality. CONCLUSIONS: The lymphovascular infiltrate is an unfavorable predictor of actuarial survival at five years in patients with colon cancer, additionally it is a risk factor associated with mortality. There was no evidence of clinical stages, tumor stages and lymph node stages as risk factors.
