To identify if there is an association between anxiety and post-traumatic stress in the covid-19 pandemic in students of the professional school of human medicine. MATERIAL AND METHOD: An observational, transversal analytical research was carried out on 196 students from I to XII cycle of the faculty of human medicine of the Universidad Privada Antenor Orrego. A web survey was conducted with the students of the different cycles of the human medicine career in which sociodemographic variables and tests (DASS 21, EGS-TEPT) were studied. The evaluation of the data was carried out using statistical procedures: a) Descriptive statistics (Percentages and frequencies), b) Trend measures central (mean and standard deviation) and c) Measures of relationship (Chi - square). RESULTS: Of those students with a normal level of anxiety, 100% had no stress; With respect to middle level students, 100% do not have stress; As for the moderate level, 2.4% have post-traumatic stress and those who do not have it are 97.6%; Of those with severe anxiety, 78.8% do not have stress, while 21.2% do have post-traumatic stress; and those with extremely severe anxiety, 40% do not have stress and 60% do. Regarding the relationship test between the variables, the Chi-Square test was performed, resulting in a value of 78.214, which is significant (p-value <0.05). CONCLUSIONS: it is concluded that there is a relationship between the level of post-traumatic stress with the level of anxiety in medical students and that the use of energy drinks in some students helps to tolerate levels of anxiety in the face of post-traumatic stress.
