No hubo
To determine the association between the ABO blood group and COVID-19, in blood donors who were admitted to the Hospital Regional Docente de Trujillo – La Libertad. MATERIAL AND METHODS: An observational, analytical, case-control type study, which evaluated 426 blood donors who were admitted to the Hospital Regional Docente de Trujillo – La Libertad, whose blood group records were found in the database of the Hemotherapy Center of the hospital who had undergone an antigenic test for the diagnosis of COVID-19 between January 1, 2021 and August 31, 2021, the results of which were recorded in the Integrated System for COVID 19 - SISCOVID 19 The selection was made randomly. The data were stored in Excel and processed in the SPSS 26.0 program. Absolute and percentage frequency analysis and bivariate analysis were performed using the chi-square test with OR with confidence intervals. RESULTS: Of all the blood donors evaluated, it was found that the highest frequency of donors corresponds to blood group O. Of the donors diagnosed with COVID-19, it was found that the frequency of blood groups A, B, AB and O it is 9.9%, 2.8%, 0% and 87.3% respectively. The Rh positive factor corresponds to 97.2% and the Rh negative factor was 2.8%. Within the sociodemographic characteristics in donors with COVID-19, age ≤ 40 years was the most frequent with 76.8%, the most frequent sex was male with 75.4% and the most frequent origin was urban with 93.7%. There was no statistically significant association between COVID-19 with ABO blood group, Rh factor, and sociodemographic characteristics. CONCLUSION: There is no statistical significance to determine the association between the ABO blood group and COVID-19, in blood donors who were admitted to Hospital Regional Docente de Trujillo – La Libertad
