To determine the association association between nutritional status and functional capacity of older adult patients at Hospital I Moche EsSalud 2023. MATERIAL AND METHODS: An observational and analytical investigation was carried out, in which 332 adult patients over 60 years of age, belonging to the chronic illness program of the Hospital I Moche EsSalud, were included during the period from March to June 2023. In which Nutritional status and functional capacity were evaluated according to age groups and sex through two previously validated questionnaires. To process the results, SPSS software was used for the analytical part, while for the inferential part, the Chi square test was used in order to find the link between the proposed parameters. RESULTS: Of the 332 adult patients over 60 years of age evaluated, 173 were women (52.1%) and 159 were men (47.9%). The predominant nutritional status was normal nutritional status (69.3%) in women (68.2%) with an age range between 60 and 72 years (88.9%). The common functional capacity was mild dependence (72.3%) in women (75.1%) with an age range between 73 and 85 years (83.9%). The link between nutritional status and functional capacity was significant (p=0.00), given that a relationship was found between normal nutritional status and mild dependence was represented in 60.8%
