In Peru, seismic events have always caused great economic and human losses. It has been shown that the first entity to respond to an emergency is the Volunteer Fire Company of Peru. Therefore, the infrastructure of the stations must withstand any seismic event so that firefighters can attend emergencies immediately. Similar studies indicate that the emergency infrastructures in Lima and Callao will be strongly affected by a seismic event of significant magnitude. To establish the level of seismic risk of the fire stations and to evaluate the possible consequences that an earthquake could cause, information has been collected from the different fire stations in Lima and Callao. Then, the analysis of the structure will be done using the methodology proposed by FEMA 274 in its HAZUS 2011 manual with which the percentage of damage that the structure will suffer in the face of a seismic event can be obtained. Considering that the methodology applied corresponds to parameters of structures of the United States and not of Peru, the results obtained are an approximation to the behavior of the structures in the face of an earthquake and present several limitations that will be detailed throughout the writing. The results obtained confirm the high risks presented by fire stations. In front of the seismic scenario of magnitude 8.5 it is estimated that at least 30% of the infrastructure of the fire stations will be lost. There will be economic losses of over 8 million soles. These values will help establish decision and improvement criteria for the most vulnerable fire stations and generate a mitigation plan for possible disasters.
