To determine if there are differences between the variables associated with the set of knowledge and preventive practices against COVID 19 in workers of the Union market and the ex-terminal fishing market of Piura 2022. METHODS: Cross-sectional, analytical and observational study. Workers 18 years of age or older who have a sales stand in the main market of the district of La Unión and the ex-terminal fishing market were included in the study. Statistical logistic regression analysis was performed to identify the factors associated with an adequate level of knowledge and adequate practices, this was carried out in the Stata v14 program. RESULTS: 129 workers from the Union market and 96 workers from the Piura fish extermination market were surveyed during the first months of 2022. A significant association was found with age (p=0.014), with an average of 44.31 years for those who had a bad level of knowledge and 36.21 years for those who had a good level of knowledge. An association was found with respect to training on COVID-19 prevention (p=0.020), observing a higher percentage (51.06 vs 30.49%) of adequate practical attitudes in those who had received the training. Having tested for COVID-19 was also significantly associated (p=0.014), obtaining a higher percentage (82.76% vs 56.72%) of good knowledge in those who did take the test. CONCLUSION: an association was demonstrated between factors such as age, religion, training and those respondents who have been tested for COVID 19, with respect to a good level of knowledge and adequate preventive practices against COVID-19.
