The objective of the research was to identify whether SARS-CoV-2 infection is a risk factor for complications in puerperal women at the Víctor Ramos Guardia Hospital, Huaraz 2020. Methodology: An observational analytical study of a retrospective cohort of cases and controls was carried out through the selection and review of 180 medical records, assigning 60 cases and 120 puerperal controls. Results: Among puerperal infections, the most common are urinary tract and endometritis; Late preeclampsia in infected puerperal women represents 45%, in uninfected women, 28.3%. The OR analysis confirms that infected puerperal women are a risk factor for complications of puerperal infections and late preeclampsia (OR = 2.04 and 2.07), complications due to pre-existing diseases, type 2 diabetes mellitus in patients infected on 28 .3%, in non-infected 0.8%. 10% of infected patients have asthma, 0.8% in non-infected patients, 33.3% of infected puerperal women have late hypertensive disorders, and 6.7% in non-infected patients. The analysis of the OR confirms that diabetes, asthma and arterial hypertension (OR = 45.05, 13.22 and 7.00) in infected postpartum women are a risk factor for complications Conclusions: SARS CoV2 infection is a risk factor for complications in puerperal women at the Víctor Ramos Guardia Hospital.
