This research has been conducted in the headwaters of the San Carlos stream micro-watershed, in the Laredo district, Trujillo province. A two-dimensional modeling was performed using Hec Ras 6.4 software to understand the flow behavior in this area. Prior to modeling, flow rates were determined in the upper zones, which served as input data for the model. At the lower end, an outlet condition was set as a boundary to ensure real conditions and prevent flow retention. The digital elevation model was considered in the modeling, as well as the maximun mesh sizes of 5 m. and there were refinement areas with smaller mesh sizes for which the breakline tool was used. The modeling results indicated that water depths ranged between 0.5m and 0.8m. As for velocities, they were mostly high, averaging 4 m/s, which are typical values for this topography
