Objective: To study the existence of acute renal failure induced by Post-Contrast Multislice Spiral Tomography in hospitalized patients of Hospital II-1 Essalud Jorge Reategui Delgado Piura 2018. Methodology: Analytical Cross-Sectional Cohort Study with primary data collection; of patients who have a Multislice Spiral Tomography, prior informed consent signature which will be divided into two groups: Those affected by contrast substance as a case group and a second group without exposure to the contrast substance at Hospital II-1 EsSalud Jorge Reategui Delgado Piura 2018. Results: A total of 150 data were obtained from the participants that were designed in two groups: 75 of them patients treated by spiral spiral tomography (50% of cases); of the general total, the predominant sex was the female present in 56% of the total (84 cases), with a mean age of 49.91st between a range of 22 to 79 years and no association was found between the use of contrast material with Renal Insufficiency generation p: 0.71 (95% CI: -0.015 - 0.033). Conclusion: no association was found between the use of contrast and the generation of Renal Insufficiency; in patients with contrast use found p: 0.71 (95% CI: - 0.015 - 0.033), while those patients without contrast use found p: 0.153 (95% CI: (-0.92 - 5.85).
