To analyze the effects of the National School Feeding Program Qali Warma 9 months post intervention on BMI / age and changes in the nutritional status of preschoolers in northern Peru, 2019. Material and method: Analytical study, retrospective cohort of one arm, collecting data from 9 Educational Institutions benefited from Qali Warma in Piura during the 2019 school year. Results: 617 students met selection criteria. Data for the beginning and end of the year were obtained. The baseline mean of BMI / age was 0.66 and the final mean was 2.23, recovering children with initial malnutrition, increased risk of overweight 34.8%, overweight 30.3% and obesity 22.5%. The mean baseline hemoglobin was 11.9 g / dL; 24% anemia, predominantly mild anemia 17%. At 9 months of intervention, the prevalence of mild anemia decreased by 5.5%, moderate cases by 2.1%. All changes were significant (p = 0.00). Multivariate analysis was performed using multiple linear regression, we worked with model 4 to explain 73.9% of the variation of BMI / age, with weight being the variable with the greatest influence in predicting the behavior of BMI / age, keeping the other variables constant (p < 0.000). Conclusion: Qali Warma Program increases the BMI / age Z score and modifies the nutritional status of preschool children in northern Perú.
