cultivo positivo a Pseudomona aeruginosa estuvieron significativamente asociados
con la presencia de bronquiectasias.
To determine the factors associated with bronchiectasis in patients with COPD. Materials and methods: An observational, analytical cross-sectional study was performed. 82 patients with the diagnosis of COPD from the Pneumology service of the Hospital Belén de Trujillo and Hospital Regional Docente de Trujillo in the period 2013 to 2017 entered the study. Results: Eighty-two patients with a diagnosis of COPD were included, of which thirty-seven had bronchiectasis (45%). Bivariate analysis showed that history of >=1 COPD exacerbation in the last year (p< 0.03), grades II (20%) and III (15%) of GOLD classification of airflow limitation severity in COPD, and the culture positive for Pseudomona aeruginosa (p< 0,024) were associated with the presence of bronchiectasis. Conclusions: History of more than one COPD exacerbation in the last year, grades II and III of GOLD classification of airflow limitation severity in COPD, and culture positive for Pseudomona aeruginosa were significantly associated with the presence of bronchiectasis.
