The present investigation entitled “Psychological well-being according to gender in adolescents from a public educational institution in Víctor Larco, Trujillo“, was made to determine if there are differences in psychological well-being according to gender in adolescents from a public educational institution in Víctor Larco, Trujillo; it was a substantive study with a descriptive comparative design. The amount of study population was 233 adolescents from third to fifth high school, enrolled in the 2021 school year; To determine the sample size, a proportional stratified probabilistic test was used, so, the sample quantity was made up of 146 adolescents of both genders (45.9% female and 54.1% male) belonging to the third, fourth, and fifth year of high school of a public educational institution in the Víctor Larco district, who were evaluated with the Casullo and Castro Psychological Well-Being Scale for Adolescents (BIEPS - J), standardized in Trujillo by Cortez (2016). The results showed that all the evaluated (100.0%) had a low level of psychological well-being, and that there are no statistically significant differences (p>.05) in psychological well-being between male adolescents and female adolescents, both at a general level and by dimensions, therefore, it is concluded that both genders have similar levels of psychological well-being.
