To identify if the social network Facebook is associated with an adequate quality of information and the perception of fatalism in the Piura population during a state of pandemic. MATERIAL AND METHOD: Observational, analytical-cross-sectional, prospective study with primary data collection, using the Google Forms virtual platform in the adult population of the city of Piura, generating self-administered survey data with a significance of p <0.05 for results presentation. RESULTS: With 384 participants in an equitable manner in terms of their distribution after calculating a representative sample belonging to them; It was found that 57.55% (221 participants) were female, in addition an average age of 34.68 years was observed respectively, for parameters of exposure to the social network we have that between 6 hours (p: 0.002) and greater than 6 hours (p: 0.001); finally we found mild fatalism in an age range between 20 to 29 years (p: 0.3 CI: 0.001 - 0.045), 30 to 39 years (p: 0.4 CI: 0.001 - 0.065) and from 40 to 49 years (p: 0.5 CI: 0.001 - 0.056) with significant association CONCLUSION: It was found that the social network Facebook is associated with an adequate quality of information and perception of fatalism in the Piurana population during a pandemic state
