To determine the association between social skills and internet addiction in 5th year high school students of Educational Institution N° 80823 “El Indoamericano” - El Porvenir. Material and methods: An observational, analytical and cross-sectional study was carried out, for which two questionnaires were applied to the 5th year high school students of the Educational Institution N° 80823 ““El Indoamericano““; who were a total of 121 students, meeting the inclusion and exclusion criteria only 104. The instruments used to measure the variables were the Social Skills Scale and the Internet Use Test. Results: There were no differences for age, sex, number of hours per day on the Internet or place of access between high school students with or without internet addiction (p>0.05). The prevalence of social skills in high school students with internet addiction was 46.4%. the prevalence of social skills in high school students without internet addiction was 26.3%. There is no association between social skills and internet addiction in high school students (p>0.05). Conclusions: Social skills are not associated with internet addiction in high school students from an educational institution.
